Expansion in motion for
engineering business
A Monmouthshire-based engineering
support business is celebrating its first
anniversary with plans for a 150% increase in
turnover during the next two years.
R & R Site Services Ltd has enjoyed
substantial growth since being launched by best pals
Andrew Rowsley and Gareth Rendle – creating jobs for
more than 20 sub-contractors and with plans to take
on another five permanent staff in the New Year.
R & R which specialises in the site
repair and maintenance of industrial and
manufacturing equipment has completed a year of
trading which has exceed all expectations.
The company has benefited from
support under the New Business Starts programme.
Devised and managed by Newport-based CODA Business
Management Ltd with funding from the Welsh
Development Agency, the programme offers mentoring
and specialist consultancy to ambitious
entrepreneurs in South East Wales whose business
ideas demonstrate strong growth potential.
R & R already retains more than 20
sub-contractors, however plans now call for the
direct employment of five permanent staff as well as
continuing to build the business with agents and
associates.
R & R Director Gareth Rendle said,
“The first year really has surpassed all our
expectations and we have an impressive and growing
customer-base”. He added “we saw the need to
provide quality site support to local industry and
with our backgrounds in engineering and lecturing
apprentices we realised we had all the skills needed
to launch the company.
“We will now need to recruit skilled
engineers and tradesmen as part of our plans for the
future and certainly see more opportunities for
employment in the years ahead” Gareth concluded.
The company has been advised by Cathy
Edge of CODA who has helped them access funding and
specialist marketing advice.
She said, “We are very impressed with
what the company has achieved and are working with
them on more initiatives which will help them grow
both organically and through acquisition.”
R & R is assisted by the WDA’s Aspire
Programme which is managed and delivered by CODA.
The Aspire Programme seeks to identify businesses
with growth potential and support them with free
business advice and services
Based in Rogiet South Wales, the company provides

planned shut downs or equipment failure. Turnover is
expected to grow to £500,000 in the next two years.
