MARIA GOES COSMIC
WITH LAUNCH OF CLOTHING COMPANY
Newport-based designer Maria Bowden
has created an inspirational collection of exclusive
Tee-Shirts and Fleeces, for both men and women, to
launch new clothing company, Cosmicelf.
Inspired by personal experiences and
encounters whilst travelling throughout India, Asia
and South America, Maria’s designs are driven by a
desire to create a look that is both individual and
magical.
Advised by CODA, one of Wales’
leading providers of enterprise support for new and
expanding businesses, Maria has launched Cosmicelf
with an inspirational range.
“I have created a look that is truly
individual,” Maria said. “Having travelled
extensively I’ve taken the magic element from
several cultures and traditions weaving it together
with my limitless imagination to create a truly
inspired, unique range of Tee-Shirts and Fleeces.”
The theme of individuality will be
carried forward by Cosmicelf with the frequent
introduction of limited editions, alongside the
addition of new ranges throughout the year.
Maria already has plans to introduce
a range of handbags and other fashion accessories.
The debut collection includes a
vibrant range of Tee-Shirts and Fleeces. The whole
range can be viewed and ordered on-line at
www.cosmicelf.com and is also available at an
exclusive number of designer retailers.
“Maria wanted to make her designs
accessible to as wide an audience as possible, so
coordinating the launch of the web site alongside
availability in exclusive retail outlets is perfect,
says Tish John of CODA.
Adding, “Fashion is a hugely
competitive sector and whilst Maria’s designs have
freshness and energy we wanted to ensure she tackled
her market as efficiently as possible”

Maria is assisted by the WDA’s Aspire
Programme which is managed and delivered by CODA.

Cosmicelf plans to develop the brand to achieve
national recognition and appeal. “I very much see
Cosmicelf as much about spirit of individuality as a
range of products in their own right” Maria added.
